We love wedding dresses – do we even need to admit that?! It’s part of our job!
One of the best times of the year is when our favourite bridal designers release their latest collections, oh the hours we spend lusting after all the beautiful creations. Today we’re sharing one of our long time loves, London based designer Charlie Brear. With a strong sustainability ethos and immaculate design and craftsmanship, the brand makes us happy! Read on to learn about the latest collection, Desert Dreamers…
Charlie Brear is stocked internationally and at Bella Bleu Vintage Bridal in Cork.
The Desert Dreamers collection encompasses the brands signature aesthetic with sleek silhouettes that pair perfectly with our Iconic pieces. The collection draws inspiration from the book ‘Desert Dreamers’ by Barbara Glowczewski.
Charlie’s contemporary style is highlighted in the new bias cut dresses which are equally as beautiful on their own as they are layered with the stylings pieces which form an array of textures. Luxurious fabrics are key to this collection, from feather tulle to flower jacquard crepe. These styling additions sculpt a bridal look to be individual and a personal reflection of the bride’s style. The stand-alone gowns also relay the collections fabric stories to achieve a fashion led cohesive collection.
The Desert Dreamers collection has a soft feminine edge which is showcased by beautiful luxurious fabrics. A wide range of laces feature in the collection, laser cut flower lace adds delicate 3d detail, the Lariette lace has a delicate flower pattern, and the Aviana lace combined with the contrast Lattice lace has a directional fashion approach to a somewhat traditional fabric type.
Scatter sequins and Pearl flower sequins can add a shimmer to any dress, and are used in various silhouettes such as a tiered overskirt and a reversible top / jacket which is a new shape that’ll give the bride two distinct ways to wear the piece. The new Supreme satin crepe which comes in the colourways Oyster and Pearl, is a lustrous rich crepe with an elegant drape, which means it suits the cowl neck and back silhouette and the twist knotted bodice which comes in both dress or jumpsuit form.
