spooky songs for Halloween wedding

It’s spooky season and we’re all for a great theme around these parts.

If you’ve decided to go all out and embrace a Halloween theme at your wedding celebration, why not include some great spooky songs throughout your day? Today we’ve been chatting to our musicians for their spooky song suggestions to add and extra spook to your day…

The Men In Black

Spooky First Dance Favourites MiB Have Performed:

  • Thriller – Michael Jackson
  • The Monster Mash – Bobby “Boris” Pickett
  • Time Warp – The Rocky Horror Picture Show
  • Ghostbusters – Ray Parker Jr

The Cazettes

The Cazettes were asked to perform Time Warp as a surprise First Dance. During covid we had filmed a video cover of the TIme Warp, and this couple loved it so much they wanted to perform the dance to their guests.

Halfway through the song they had their bridal and grooms parties join them on the dancefloor for full choreography! It was amazing fun, and really set the tone for the rest of the night.

The Beat Boutique

We love adding extra atmosphere and fun to a themed wedding! For Halloween weddings two of our most popular choices are Thriller and Ghost Town – amazing tracks to perform and get the guests up on their feet!

Brenda Grealis Wedding Funeral and String Ensemble

I have performed Zombie, it is superbly atmospheric for a Halloween wedding.

Fin Furey

Here’s a song of mine called Throne of Bones. It’s a journey in search for solace written from the Grim’s perspective. He meets a man who seeks glory through infamy and demands he wants immortality at any cost, so the grim reaper swaps his cloak of immortality and his scythe in turn for the man’s heart. They swap places and the Grim goes and lives a full mortal life finding love and leaves this world a mortal man surrounded by family and kin.

Final scene is the ‘new’ grim reaper is there to greet him and take him on to the next live.

“I Put a Spell on You” (by Screamin’ Jay Hawkins or Nina Simone) – Sultry and romantic, perfect for a couple who wants spooky but intimate vibes.

Secret Singing Waiters

  • Ghostbusters
  • Monster mash
  • Thriller

“Because we tailor design every Secret Singing Waiters setlist to suit our couples … it’s easy for us to throw in a little Halloween flavour if the couple would like it.

We always like to keep our setlist moving quickly, so nobody has a chance to get bored or consider leaving to the bar or smoking area. Under 2 mins is just enough for people to have a taste – they laugh, singalong and / or whip out the iconic halloween song moves for that song … then we move to the next hit and just keep them coming !!”

Entourage Wedding Band

“Time Warp” from The Rocky Horror Picture Show – Upbeat, theatrical, and a fun way to break from tradition. We had a couple start with a slow song for all of 20seconds … then we kicked into this and the couple were joined by bridal party and then other guests for the iconic time warp dance. It was a  massive surprise and hit and the talking  point of the night !”

The Connor McKeon Band

Thriller, is one that we performed as a surprise for the bride at a wedding in Adare Manor. It was a lot of fun and the whole band wore vampire face make up.
