As we step into 2025, wedding stationery is definitely taking a refined and artistic turn. Here are my top 4 trends and predictions for this year:
Monochrome Invitations
Undeniably chic, monochrome invitations are making a bold statement. Whether it’s classic black and white or subtle tone-on-tone designs, this trend offers a modern and timeless aesthetic that suits any wedding style. These invitations can be decorated with a beautiful satin or silk bow or have an added luxury touch with hot-foil stamping printing.
Luxury Invitations with Vellum Wraps
Vellum wraps or transparent paper wraps continue to be a favourite choice for couples looking to add a touch of elegance and luxury to their invitations. This translucent material beautifully covers your stationery, creating a soft and ethereal feel while offering a glimpse of the beauty within.
Venue Watercolours & Sketches
Personalisation is key, and what better way to make your invitations unique than with custom venue watercolours or sketches? These artistic renditions of your wedding venue provide a meaningful keepsake and set the tone for your special day in the most picturesque way.
Wax Seals and Velvet for a Timeless Touch
Bringing a sense of romance and tradition, wax seals are a must-have for 2025 weddings. Whether embossed with initials, floral motifs, or custom crests, they add an exquisite finishing touch to envelopes and invitation suites. Velvet ribbons are making waves as the perfect embellishment for invitations. Luxuriously soft and available in a range of beautiful hues, they bring a sense of opulence and texture that ties everything together beautifully.

In 2024, I found a lot of couples played it safe with their invitations – there were a lot of muted tones, and a lot of classic styling.
2025 sees couples taking a bolder approach to their stationery – really showing their unique personalities and the vibe for their big day.
It’s lovely to work closely with a couple, taking their theme and idea, and building on it to create something special and unique for them.
Our most popular styles this year so far are our themed invitations.
“Herd the moos” is a great style for a country wedding – very popular with farmers. We have other farm styles that incorporate sheep, pigs, the farmers journal, sheep dogs, tractors, machinery, wellies and much more.
Another popular style is “Give Mammy our last name”. It’s a lovely way to include your little ones, and even your pets, in your special day.
Our “GAA gaga” is always a popular option with football fans – it doesn’t have to be football themed though – we also do hurling, rugby, soccer and even festival/ concert ticket invitations – they can also be personalised with family crests, instead of teams.
Our elegant country florals are another ever popular option. These, like all our stationery, can be edited or changed to tie in with your theme – “Carrie” is a firm favourite – elegant and pretty, its perfect for any wedding.
The Paper Lane
Venue Inspired
Venue illustrations will continue to be popular this year. Custom venue illustrations and watercolour elements really add a classic elegance and will bring a beautiful sophistication to your stationery. Themed illustrations are a good way to include a nod to your venue location. Watercolour illustrations can give a sense of whimsy artistry or opt for an elegant line drawing for a touch of modern sophistication. Your venue sketch can be used across your whole stationery suite, even on the day on signage and menus. Giving you a consistent look for a professional finish to wow your guests and add that personal touch.
Traditional Florals
Blossoms are still sprouting on stationery in 2025 but now they are becoming a touch more traditional. Recently we’ve seen a move to wispy, whimsical wildflowers winding around the edges of wedding invitations. This style of flower illustration is totally timeless, so even though it’s at the top of our list of popular wedding invitation adornments for 2025, this stationery’s style will always feel classic.
Monograms & Crests
Monograms and crests are continuing to be popular this year and can create a lasting impression that reflects your individuality. It is also a great way to add the wow factor to your wedding. Monograms can be a fantastic way to add a sense of drama and elegance to your invitations and can be carried across your other stationery like your menus or your welcome sign.
Personalisation
Personalisation is key in making wedding invitations feel special and unique. Custom illustrations, such as portraits of the couple, their children, pets, or designs that reflect the couple’s interests, are increasingly popular. Handwritten elements, such as calligraphy or personal messages, add an intimate touch, making each invitation feel more personal and heartfelt. These bespoke designs help convey the couple’s individuality and create a deeper connection with guests.
