When pricing and expectations are clear from day one on each side, trust is instant, communication is easy and everyone feels comfortable working towards the final result, the wedding day!
1. When booking your venue clarify the full picture - Questions to consider asking:
- Does this quote include all local taxes, service charges, and cleaning fees?
- Can we walk through the exact Plan B space if rain is forecast? Are there extra fees for moving furniture?
- Do you have a preferred vendor list? Is there a financial penalty for using my own team?
- Does the fee cover power for a band and lighting, or is a generator rental required?
2. When hiring a planner be clear on all areas and pricing structure - Questions to consider asking:
- Does your flat fee cover unlimited wedding day hours, or is there a cutoff time?
- Will we pay suppliers directly, or do funds flow through your agency?
- What is your standard response window and preferred platform for communication?
3. As a couple be honest with yourselves - Questions to ask yourself:
- Are we sharing our true top budget so the planner can allocate funds accurately?
- Have we clearly stated our top three priorities (e.g., food, music, decor)?
