Afters ? Help Please

Im just about to send a email to a few friends in work to invite them to the wedding afters What is the best way to word it??? Hi all im getting married Friday the 23rd of july and you are all invited to the afters?? Thanks

If it were me I'd word it something like this: "Hi All, As you know myself and XXXXX are getting married on X date in X hotel. While I would love to have you all there for the day unfortunately it's just not possible due to budget restrictions/us having a huge family (put in whatever suits here). However I would love it if you could all come down to the hotel around 8.30/9 for few drinks to celebrate with us. Let me know if you can make it, Debbie7". Hope this helps!

we worded ours like the bride and groom request the pleasure of the company of XXXXXXX to the evening reception on the X may 2010 in the XXXX hotel at 8.30pm HTH
