Anyone attending the Community Midwife Service in the Coombe

HI, I am not attending the Coombe but my sis in law is using this system. She wasnt in Lucan either but the system is the same. You go into the Coombe for the dating and anomoly scan but for any other appointments its in a local health centre. If there are any risks like diabetes they will refer you back to the hospital. Saves on big queues in the hospital. From what she says its fine, no problems.

Hi babicrazy, I'm attending the Coombe but going to the Naas midwife clinic for all my appointments. Have to say it's brilliant - the midwives there are lovely and get to see usually the same doc off the consultants team every time. All the scans are done there too, dating, anomaly etc...the only thing I was referred back to the Coombe for glucose tolerance tests for gestational diabetes as they do this in the perinatal centre in the Coombe.
