SS, I think it very much depends on what the Diploma is in. For example, I've a diploma in some music performance dealy, that entitles DipABRSM after my name. Other musical diplomas are LTCL, FRSM etc, so I imagine that Dip. on its own is pretty rare.

Home study courses in alot of areas don't hold as much accreditation (sp) as full time courses,I think this is only right. No offence to anyone but why would someone who only did a course for a few months come out with the same award as a person who did a full time course IMO.

It depends on what your course was in. I have an honours degree in IT and mine are BSc. (Hons).. It's different for everyone.

Mrs Smiley. I believe that there is a framework of qualifications in place throughout the EU where every course/exam from Junior Cert on is graded and divided into levels. Under this framework of qualifications you can check international/home/Full time/Part time and home study courses.
I would imagine that courses are compared by their quality and difficulty of exams/project work etc rather than whether you studied part or full time.
