Make it three for August 2018, we are getting married on 11 August. Can't believe it is less than a year away but making some headway in getting things booked.

August 2018 bride here too!

Booked/bought: venue, church, priest, photographer, band, DJ, cake maker, make-up artist, wedding dress, pub for the next day

To book/buy: florist, hairdresser, bridesmaids dresses, church singer, groom’s suit, groomsmen suit hire, designer for invites, wedding cars

...and probably loads of other things I'm forgetting as I type.

On the topic of wedding cars, has anyone who is thinking of having them been quoted? Off to post on here separately about wedding cars...

Good luck everyone!

Hi ladies.
I'm also an August 2018 bride.

Things I've booked so far:
Venue (ceremony and reception )
Music (ceremony, drinks reception, band, dj)
My dress and veil
Intent to marry (HSE)
Glass jars for sweets

Still to do:
Bm dresses
Shoes and accessories
Decide on readings/poems etc
Decide on photo booth etc.
Food tasting
Flowers - friend of family so no rush

Not doing:
Transport - staying in hotel night before and ceremony and reception is there
Videographer - hoping I won't regret this as so many brides said they regret not having it. I'm not somebody that enjoys limelight and have never enjoyed the thought of being recorded so we splashed out on a photographer instead!

We live abroad but are getting married in Ireland. We're home for 2 weeks at Christmas and then won't be home again until a few weeks before the wedding. We are getting everything in Ireland.
Need to get rings sorted while we're at home over Christmas.
Decided on bm dresses, haven't ordered, and think I've gone off them now. Trust my 2 bm to find something without me if needed.
Am I forgetting anything major? Particularly that can't be done within a few weeks of the wedding.

I feel like the time has just flown by. Got engaged 16 months ago and feel like christmas will come and go and then we'll be getting married! Maybe I feel like that because we live away!?

Our invites are ready at home - I cannot wait to get to Ireland and physically hold them and get a good look at them! But then comes the fun part of writing them and addressing them to leave them ready for family to post closer to the time!!

Love reading your comments! Hope you're all enjoying the planning!
