Baby Monitor

Hi Girls cant believe i've started buying the baby stuff now - i'm 28 weeks and its flying by!! just wondering about the baby monitors - do you need one as soon as the baby is born? we are planning on keeping baby in our room for the first few months but (this may sound like a really dumb question ) when do you start to put the baby upstairs to bed i.e. before us so they are up there on their own - oh my god i'm so clueless any advice would be great

I am no expert but I assume you need the monitor as soon as the baby is born as the baby will be on their own in the room until you go to bed. I believe it is also recommended that the baby has their day time naps in the bedroom to begin with until a routine is established.
