I had my anomaly scan today and I was told i need to go back tomorrow to have a fetal echo done on the baby to check for a hole in the heart. I'm worried sick now. Has anyone else had this test done and what were the results like? To top it off they sent me to physio with a pain in my back and my pelvis is out of line and Im now on crutches and have to have physio for the rest of the pregnancy but for now I'm just so worried about babs heart. Rough day doesnt even cover it... :o(

Ah babes, you must be so worried, hopefully everything will be fine and that they are just being cautious. sorry i can't help ya out, let us know how it goes, will be thinking of you. Regarding pelvis, you poor thing, i have SPD but its not so bad that I need crutches!! I've been put on a three day week, was told the only thing to help it is rest so I have to have every second day off work and I have to say things have really improved, so maybe think of doing something like this if you are not already finished work.

MrsD, I hope all goes well with the scan - a friend of mine from uni, his daughter had this and the holes (she had 2) closed by themselves in the first few years of her life (I believe by the time she was four) and she is a perfectly happy healthy child now. They are actually pretty common and only if the hole(s) are particulalry large may medication/surgery be needed, mostly as in the case of my friend's daughter, if they are smaller in size they close themselves and cause no problem in later life. Sorry to hear that on top of everything else you have pain to deal with, I hope physio helps with that. All the very best wishes for tomorrow.

Mrs.D this happened to my cousin and everything was fine. She was living in australia at the time so not here. Same as you at anomaly scan was told to come back to get baby checked for hole in the heart, we were all so upset and on our knees praying while she waited to see a specialist. Anyhow turns out everything was perfect - no probs at all. It's impossible for you not to worry, we'd all be the same, but take some comfort from hu101 and my cousins stories. At least you are getting seen to quickly so you wont have too long to wait for results. We'll be praying for you :xxx

Girls thanks for the positive stories - they really do help and I know baba is going to be fine, you just worry once you hear there could be any kind of problem. Had a sleepless night, and when I rang the Profs secretary to confirm the appt (the sonographer had left a mesage for her yest) she said it might be tomor now before they can see me. She said she'd ring back by 10 but I'm still waiting... Babs is kicking away anyway so as DH says, there cant be much wrong with him!
