Hi Everyone, I hope to give breast feeding a try but if it does'nt work out I don't think I'll be too upset but I am wondering what is the best formula to use if the breast feeding does'nt work? Any recomendations? The only ones I know of are SMA and Aptimel. I know I was on SMA as a baby and heard about the other one on the telly.

I read somewhere that Aptimel was the closet to breast milk but can't remember where I saw that.

A friend told me that she is breast feeding and topping up with formula as the baby gets bigger and wants more and daddy is doing the last night feed so she can go to bed early and he gets to bond with baby. Anyway she is using SMA golds as she was told in the hospital that it's the closest to breast milk. But someone else who had a baby was told that Aptimel was the closest in the hospital too. It probably depends on the hospital. [img:1w6n7530];18;96/st/20090426/dt/5/k/cf9a/preg.png[/img:1w6n7530]

I used aptamil initially and the midwife told me it was closest to breast however the lady who was giving out the bottles then told me that mothers giving aptamil give more of it as its not as filling?? I then tried cow and gate comfort then onto more so they are all pretty similar its just a matter of finding the right one for your lo. So don't buy too much of any brand!
