Boys name decision

Hi, We are narrowing down names for boys and girls. We like the name Fionn for a boy, but I was watching a documentary on Gavin Friday the other night, his real name is Fionán. I've never heard this name before but after looking it up on net and seems to be popular enough through history, there was an Irish saint too with this name. Which do you prefer Fionn or Fionán?

I love Fionan, so many boys are called Fionn now! Its certainly different!
