Computer question please

you know when you download a file and it has please select a programme to open with well i said word then i changed it to all the other programmes and still wont open properly can anyone advise?

hey strawberry shortcake, huh101 is bang on, we need to know the file extension. If you don't know what the file extension is (ie. it doesn't say) this is what you do to show it: In Windows Explorer go to Tools -> Folder Options... Click on the View tab UNtick the box that says 'hide extensions for known file types' Click Apply and then OK This will make sure that all files will display their extension too, so for example, your filenames will appear as [i:2u86hk8w]Sample.doc [/i:2u86hk8w]as opposed to just [i:2u86hk8w]Sample[/i:2u86hk8w] A quick google search should tell you what program to use to open the file.
