Cystic Fibrosis test

Just heard this today, the heel prick test will now include testing for Cystic Fibrosis. It starts on July 1. http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/hea ... 25449.html

The midwives told me this before I was discharged home. My DD just missed it! Think its great that its being included.

Yeah, it's great news that it is being included in the heel prick, it can be a long and hard route to diagnosis otherwise.

It's a positive step alright - just wish they had it this month when my DD was born!!

This is great news - I had both my babies in the UK and they both were tested for this during heal prick test. They get tested for about 6 or 7 things on this test over here.

thats good news, seeing as the gene for CF is high in Ireland; the test doesn't take long and can really take away alot of worry from parents!
