Just wondering if you pay deposits on less expensive things like hair and make up? One person has said they don't need a deposit but I'd feel better if I did pay one. Just wondering what the rest of you do. I don't want to be confusing the girl either...

I think it depends on the vendor. I've paid deposits on loads of small things like hair and make up but yet the band (over 4 times the hair) didn't require a deposit, they just sent us a confirmation letter in the post. I offered the dj a deposit too and he didn't want one. Probably they'll wait in case you give them the total amount in cash on the day, which works out better for them. My church musician specifically requested cash on the day with no deposit.

You might be better not paying deposits for hair and make-up in case you don't like what they have done on your trials nearer to the time?
