First scan

Hi Girls, I am due my baby the start of May. I have got my first scan appointment in December which then i will be 20 weeks. Is there an earlier scan i could go for if i ask the doctor, ie got to private hospital around 12 weeks. thanks in advance

I don't think so. I'm not 100% though. I think every area is different and i'm sure of some girls not having a scan until after 20 weeks. Maybe you could just ring the hospital and ask if they have an earlier appointment available?

Hi teens, you would have to make a private appointment for a 12 weeks scan, i know there are quite a few places in dublin that provides them, i live in south and none available here... do a search here and u should find some info.

I was with my GP on Friday and she told me to ring and make appointment for first visit in 12 weeks. She said I could go to Mount Carmel Private at 9 weeks to get a scan but 120 euro. Hi, I rang Mount Carmel todayand booked in for my first scan privately at 12 weeks.

It's lovely to have it to look forward to! I went to Mt Carmel for a 12 week scan too, and they are so lovely there. It was amazing to see the baby - made everything real and all the more special.

Has anyone had their baby or know of people that had their baby at mount carmel?

Im going to Mount Carmel. Due in April. My best friend had her baby there in March and couldn't speak highly enough of the hospital and the staff. My first appointment is in two weeks. Can't wait to go and make sure all is ok.
