Hi,
Excellent idea. I bought a navy linen pants/waistcoat & white linen shirt from M&S (similar to this [url:2y7wtxqs]http://www.marksandspencer.com/Piece-Autograph-Linen-Waistcoat-Outfit/dp/B007719H40?ie=UTF8&ref=sr_1_5&nodeId=53882031&sr=1-5&qid=1336337571[/url:2y7wtxqs]), and bought navy converse to go with them, and the combination looks great. Not stuffy, and the kids are comfortable & will get wear out of the shoes, especially my 7 year old nephew, who wants to be a teenager asap!)
If you haven't bought the converse yet, I found the most reasonable priced of the lot on [url:2y7wtxqs]http://www.littlewoodsireland.ie/child-baby/converse/e/b/2249,4294958330/s/bestsellers,0.end?trail=4294958330-2249[/url:2y7wtxqs], two pairs of converse came to 56 euro, and free P&P

On pictures of flowergirls wearing converse, how bout this?

I think a pair of frilly socks softens the contrast between the sporty shoes and girly dress.
Cheers!
