Foods when pregnant

Hi girls, The doctor kinda quickly named off a list of foods that we should avoid when I was in with her. I'm thinking she said Mayonnaise but can't remember for sure. Would that be right?

Maybe fresh mayonnaise, since it has raw egg in it? The jarred stuff is pasteurised and safe.

Id say it was more than likely home made mayo. My dr told me to avoid anything with raw eggs and anything unpasturised (sp). HTH

But you know if you get a roll made up in a deli or something with mayonnaise on it. Do you think that would be pasteurisied??

Unless you're eating in really fancy, expensive delis I think you'll be fine Fresh mayo is much creamier and more yellow than the stuff in a jar. You'll only get in an expensive restaurant.

Yes, it would be in a really really fancy place that they would make their own mayonaise with raw egg. In any regular restaurant or deli the mayo will be made from pasturised egg in which case its absolutely fine.

According to my doctor all delis and restaurants have to use pasteurised foods.
