Francs diy weddings - table plan

I was watching Franc's DIY weddings last night and saw how he had the table plan laid out with the person name on a piece of card and the table number on back hanging up by a peg. Dose anyone know how this was done as i really liked the idea and was thinking of using it at our wedding.

I thought this was a great idea. Rather than your guests going to a board and reading what table number they are on they look for their name on the peg which you have set out in the drinks reception and their table number is on the back of the peg. Something different!

+1 thought this was a great idea how guests didn't know who else was on their table!! Franc's idea was the name on a piece of paper with the table number on the back. This was connected to a peg which was tied onto the board. Of course, you don't have to use pegs. You could use a tree with the guests name hanging off the branches or you go simply with the names wrote out on bits of cards or placenames and just simply lay them out on a table with no gimmicks...

Yeah I loved it, but thought that the frame our hotel has set up for the table plan would look very bare if you weren't using it, although I guess we could put photos or a map of the tables in it or something! Look up Escort Cards, there's loads of lovely stuff out there - why reinvent the wheel, eh?

i'm not 100% sure, but it looked like an empty picture frame (glass & backing taken out) with strands of ribbon pinned accross it, and the escort cards pegged onto the ribbon...? but as the others have suggested, there are other ways of displaying the cards, if you prefer.

Surely they could just...not use it?

I am doing escort cards but I was going to lay them out grouped in the tables, but it seemed like Franc thought that defeated the purpose. Would they be laid out alphabetically? A few people think I am mad doing it this way, that it will confuse people and will be a mess so was delighted to see him recommending it!

I love the fact that nobody knows who all is on their table until everyone is seated!

Could you hang them in the frame?
