Have my girls names down to these. Have a long surname and live in the gaeltacht so want an irish name. Any opinions would be great. :thnk

Not really mad about any of them to be honest, but if I had to pick one, it'd be Aine (sorry, can't do fadas on iPhone).

DEF not Caoimhe, its lovely but WAY too common now. I like Áine and Eimear the best. I find Niamh too common too, but you mightn't mind this. I like unusual names, both mine have irish ones too. Eimear is nice.

I loooove the name Caoimhe, it would be one of my top choices but DH doesn't like it. I love Niamh too.

I voted for Aine. Really like it. Love Caoimhe but it's gone too popular in my opinion. We were gonna have Katie but not anymore cos of how popular it is.

Have to say I voted for Aine because I haven't heard it in a long time and it's a lovely simple name. Caoimhe is gone way too popular. Niamh is a lovely name too and I don't think it's as commonly heard as others say it is - I certainly haven't heard it for younger children in recent years, more my own generation or so. So it would be my second pick. The "fancier" more modern Irish names seem to have taken over a bit in recent years. As for Eimear, I've just never met one I've liked!!
