How Long after giving birth do you wait till your 1st period

Just wondering how long you have to wait until you have your 1st period. My little one is 16 days old and I got my AF today. At least I think its my AF - either that or its my stitches bleeding again - I am nearly 100% sure its my AF - is this normal ?? Any help would be appreciate Thanks Guys

I think it was about 5 weeks after giving birth I did bleed for about 2 weeks or more after giving birth but it was birth related not period related. HTH

I bleed for about 4 weeks then got af at 6 weeks

I bled for almost 2 weeks and then got my af 6 weeks later, so 8 weeks after birth

8 weeks when i'd just finished BF.

Hi girls - just reading this post and made me think.... Do you get periods if you are breastfeeding. I've heard you won't get pregnant while you're breastfeeding but does that mean you don't get periods. Just curious, thanks

Not usually for a while pigeonwife - mine was about 5 months coming back (think it's the case only if you're exclusively bf though)
