Hi all. Just looking to get a bit of feedback from fellow wollies. I've just phoned a freelance hairdresser that i know to get prices for my wedding day. She said she usually charges €80 a head but will do it for me for €50 a head. (Travel charges are ususally €100 on top of that). Is €50 a good price or is it a little steep? Thanks in advance :lvs

Many thanks for your reply. I think i was just surprised by the price. However, i'm figuring out now that it is in fact a good price. Some people online queried as to why bridal hair is more expensive than normal upso's but it just seems to be that way. :wv

Hi Girls, In reply to Bernadotte’s question as to why bridal up styles are more expensive. I am not a hairdresser, I have been advised by many bridal hairstylists over the years that bridal up styling requires a much more “stable” foundation as a Brides hair will need to look great for much longer than the usual up style that most girls will have done for a day at the races; or indeed going to a wedding. You will also need the specialist skills that the really good stylists have when it comes to the finished look, you don’t want loose hair showing here and there as you often see in photographs. The real professional will show your hair off with a polished look, almost like the photographer has taken a picture and then removed all the stray bits and bobs and also has a wide a varied repertoire of hair styles. Check out a great selection of accessories to go with what ever hair style you eventually settle on and we also supply made to order veils. www.purebliss.ie Feel free to drop me a line with any queries that you might have [email protected] Happy hunting Hugh WWW.PUREBLISS.IE

I don't know where you are based but I do a lot of weddings with a girls from Mullingar and she travels all over. She charges 35-40euro pp or less depending on upstyle and travel charge is usually less than 50euro. She's very experienced and I can highly recommend her!If anyone would like contact info for her, just let me know :wv

I expect the same attention and detail to be given to me when ever i pay a hairdresser to do my hair, not just on special occasions. Thank you for taking the time to reply to my query but i just felt i had to add that bit of detail too. Aplologies if i'm coming across harsh O:o)

Hi, I prices a few freelance hairdressers and a few local to my wedding as I am getting married a few hours from I where I live. They all roughly cost about €50-60 per upstyle and from €50-100 for travel depending on distance. SO it was working out around €300-€350 I am very found of my own hairdresser so I decided to ask her she is willing to charge me salon prices and the travel cost at the €50-75 once we work out the millage so I'd advise you to ask your own hairdresser you'd be surprised what they offer /regular/loyal customers. A very happy bride to be.
