How much do things cost??

I know its a broad question, but I'm new to the wedding planning scene, and while I'm getting an idea of what venues cost, I'm still completely in the dark as to what we should expect to pay for things like: flowers, cake, photographer (+/- videographer), hair and makeup (+trials), band and DJ for the evening. If you could give me a quick breakdown of what you paid, or will pay for these kinds of things, I'd really appreciate it!

It depends on a lot of things like where in the country you are, time of year the wedding is, day of the week... For example I am getting married on 4th of May which is a bank holiday and got my band and DJ for €1500 but I had gotten quotes up to €3000 - just depends on what type of band you want. Out band played at our friends wedding and had the place dancing all night so we were really happy to go with them. The price was a bonus. I got silk flowers for €225 for 3 bouquets, 5 buttonholes, 2 corsages and 1 alter arrangement. If you go for real flowers you will probably pay more and if you choose out of season flowers could end up paying a lot more. My cake is costing €300 for a 3 tier. My wedding is in Athlone. Hi Mrs2014 It is all very overwhelming at the start but you'll get into it as soon as you start ringing around and comparing quotes and that here's what we're paying: Cake:€265 Band & DJ:€1500 Cars:€750 Flowers:€700 but that includes centrepieces in the hotel Hair:€260 for 7 of us including my trial Make-up:My chief bridesmaid is a beautician so she's doing it along with a friend so not too sure yet. Photographer:It's a friend of ours and told him our budget is €2000 so he said that's more then enough Videographer: €1000 and he's staying til after midnight because it'll be New Years Eve Hope that has helped, I'm sure other people have gotten great deals on things but you have alot of time like I did to ring around and compare that's the best thing to do plus when we were booking people in 2010 we got most things at 2010 prices, happy planning

Complimentary arrivals reception, tea/coffe sanwiches for evening. Bridal suit and parents rooms) Band & Dj - 1800 Videographer - 1000 My dress - 1080 Bridsmiads - 185 each mens suits with ties made to match - 395 (got grooms free as booked at wedding fair) pre-marriage course - 150 registrar - 150 carricture for cake - 199 cake - brothers making flowers - mum wine - 180 for 30 bottles of red, 252 for 60 bottles of white Fairylight drop + unlimited seat covers - 495 church music - 340 invites - aprox 1.20 each (making myself) favors - aprox 1.00 each (assembly myself) my shoes - 200 (treated myself wearing again the next day with short dress) Make up - cousin as present along with baskets etc for venue Photographer - brother has booked and paid for his friend to do it so don't know how much it cost. all the sundry bits like jewlery, gifts, accessories add up to more than you think i haven't finished with this yet so still adding up. i did get carried away a small bit with details but it will all be worth it
