Can anyone tell me what it means if a mole you've had since you were born (now approaching middle 30's) suddenly starts to get bigger? Is it something to be concerned about? :eek

I would definitely go and get it checked out - it might be nothing a friend of mine had a few moles removed a couple of years ago and she was fine, but it is one of the things they say to look out for in regards to skin cancer. Don't mean to scare you, but better to be safe than sorry. Make an appointment straight away.

Hi Sniggywig - go to GP and get it checked either way to put your mind at rest - any mole that changes shape or colour should be checked to be sure. Hope its ok. :wv

You should get it checked out by a GP as soon as you can. Better to be safe! They'll be able to refer you to a specialist who may want to do further tests. Let us know how you get on...

Its something that you should get checked out as soon as you can, but until you speak to your doctor there is no need for concern. Some of mine had gotten bigger and changed shape, I had them thouroughly checked and no problems. But both for your health and your peace of mind, I'd get off to the doc quick smart.

Get it checked asap. If a mole change colour, size or the edges become fuzzy see a doctor straight away. I had the same thing with a mole on my back last year. It was nothing serious thank God, I had it removed in a procedure that lasted ten minutes. Hope it's nothing serious.
