Info on Consultants in Cork SP v Private?

Hi All, This is my first post here. We got the BFP on Sunday and we're very pleased. This is the first time I've been pregnant and I have an appointment to see the doc on Monday. Obviously we haven't told anyone, and I'm the first of my group of freinds to be pregnant so I've no background infor on things from friends/relatives having babies. I wonder if anyone here could answer a few questions for me? I have VHI, what are people's thoughts experiences on consultants based in Cork? Any recommendations/people to avoid? (I want to have a general impressions when I'm talking to the doc on Mon) Also, given all maternity services have been centralised in the CUMH, can anyone whose had a baby there recently give any advice on the pros cons of private over SP care? Thanks for taking the time to read this and in advance for any replies.

I had my 1st in the erinville in cork and used prof gleeson - not sure if he's in CUH now or retired but i found him fantastic!!
