internal interview - thank you?

had an interview internally yesterday for a higher position in a different department, i work in a large international company with almost 1000 staff in the building so have never met the two managers that interviewd me before, its my first ever internal interview...should i send a thank you email

yeah go for it, it can't do any harm...no need to gush, just thank them,and express your ongoing interest in the job

How about something like: "Dear... I would like to thank you for taking the time to meet with me regarding the [position]. I want to express my interest in the job and believe that my work skills and the job requirements are a good match. Looking forward to hearing from you soon." Something along those line maybe? Best of luck with it and hope you get the job!
