I asked our priest if it was or not and he said no but that he would like us to do it. I had to talk H2B into it as well and I think he survived it better than I did. :o0

Do we HAVE to do these pre marriage courses?
When h2b and I booked our local parish for our wedding next year the pre marriage courses came up in conversation with the priest and receptionist.
We're from Northern Ireland. It's a 2 day course and it's charging us £95 which I don't really want to do but I'm scared that if I don't the Priest won't marry us and all our planning will be for nothing!!
Is there perhaps other options that we can look at other than courses?
I spoke with the people via email who run the courses and asked her about other options which she said I could find online but I've come up with nothing.
