Massage when pregnant?

I got a gift of a massage. Either hot stone or Swedish. I'd booked it next weekend before I knew I was pregnant!! I'd be nearly 6 weeks. Is it safe? If there is ant doubt I'll cancel it. All advice appreciated ladies. I've had a look on line and some say its a no no, others say its ok?!

You will need to cancel your massage. You can get a pregnancy massage from either 12,13 or 14 weeks. I can't remember the exact week. I've had a few and they were great but I would phone ahead to explain you can't make the appointment tell them your pregnant and they will change the expiry date for your voucher. Best of luck!

Unfortunately its not recommended in the first trimester. You could get a specific pregnancy massage in the 2nd or 3rd trimester instead if you prefer. Or if you want to go on that date - maybe you could switch it for somethine like a manicure?

I have a friend who specialises in pregnancy massage and have had massages from her during pregnancy. She said there a few points that the masseuse has to avoid; the ankles, the calves and a pressure point around you neck as these can cause the body to go into labour / to miscarry. I would just schedule it for later and get someone that has studied pregnancy massage.
