Hello All, My job currently offers some maternity pay, however it isn't in our contact. I heard someone here say you need to be with the company 12 months before you are entitled to it. I'll be here 12 months in October and i'll be here 17 months before I take leave, will I be entitled to pay? Chloe

You need to check with your company. There are no statutory laws requiring your boss to give you maternity pay. Everywhere is different. My boss didn't give me a penny while I was on leave.

You will need to check with the company as its up to each each company, although the same rules should apply within the company to each member of staff.

as the others say it depends on your company its not your entitlement, statutory maternity benefit is an entitlement provided you have correct PRSI contributions - some companies pay the top up, others some and as RQ some, none at all
