Have a read of this...
http://www.breakingnews.ie/ireland/doct ... 53905.html
I remember a post a week or so ago about suppliers rights to refuse service to gay couples. This is another example of where peoples personal opinions can impact the lives of others.
He should be disbarred for refusing that couple. He is not our moral compass- he is a service provider.

Phil Boyle - I've met him. He's in Napro in Galway. He would be well (mal as far as I'm concerned) aligned with conservative Catholics. That's what Napro is all about really (well, I should say, why it was established) - a Catholic-friendly alternative to IVF.
I agree - he should be disbarred.

Oh for goodness' sake, WHO is this guy to impose his morals / values on anyone?! I didn't think doctors were allowed to let their religious views influence the care they give their patients?
OTT, forgive my ignorance, but what's Napro?

Ah for gods sake.
I actually thought the thread was going to be about a priest!!
I remember going to see the church we were married in (wasnt our parish)
Big ds was with me and I thought the priest was going to say some thing. All he said was "better late than never" in a jokey sort of way

It's hard to believe that he was aquitted really. That poor couple. I can't imagine how they must of felt. They are already going through a horrific time and then to be told that they wont be treated because they are not married.

Can't remember the details, but I actually sat through a presentation that he gave on it. It's fertility treatment without any invitro fertilisation - I think mainly drugs are used. I'm sure someone else here knows a lot more about it and can enlighten us. [url:1azzru1q]http://www.fertilitycare.ie/[/url:1azzru1q]
They've put up a link to this article: [url:1azzru1q]http://www.civitas.org.uk/pdf/cs31.pdf[/url:1azzru1q] No time to read it now but I will with interest later.

Thanks OTT.
Google brought me to the same article, I have just skimmed it. It sounds like pseudo-scientific
[email protected] to me... Don't read it if you're easily riled up, I'm all annoyed now sitting here.
