Can you get your eyes tested in one place and buy your glasses in another? I got them done yesterday but didn't really like any of the frames they had (well I did but it was very dear). Can I ask for the prescription and go elsewhere?

I've no idea , i suppose theres no harm asking for your test results , you've paid for them Only thing, the other opt might want to test you as well

Oh I could buy the frames elsewhere and bring them to the opticians I had the test in!!!! Off to ebay now :wv

They should do. My brother choses frames in shwanky shops, gets his eyes tested and then orders in glasses from the states. You can save hundreds of euro this way!

Yes you can just ask for the prescription and then get your frames elsewhere. You don't have to tell them that, just say you'd like your prescription and you'll come back for the frames another time! I did that with Specavers recently and got my frames in Specsavers in Newry and saved myself 100 euro on the lenses.

You pay for the eye test and are entitled to the prescription - I always get tested here and then buy my glasses up the North
