I had my pictures taken in the garden of a private house on the Culmore Road in Derry. The people who live there allow bridal parties to have pictures taken there. You give them a donation and they donate it to charity on your behalf.

Im waiting on replies to this with eager interest! My photographer suggested some other alternative venues such as Banagher old church (near Feeny) and a derelict castle on way to Donemana. She is very into stonework - Im not convinced yet. I was thinking something a wee bit more safe like gardens. Im thinking of Roe Valley country park near limavady - the family there also allow you to use the gardens with a small donation to charity (i think). Keep the ideas coming girls xx

yeah the gardens in Roe Valley cp are lovely, but maybe a bit common na?? i wuld love a cool old fashioned country lane and old lookin houses but i have no clue where there is such a place , i also seen a photo of a bride an groom in a old time sweet shop (soo cool and retro)

Thats what Im afraid of - too safe. Everytime Im on the road this past while Im keeping my eyes open to see if I can spy a potential photo opp! Whereabouts are you cutebride2b? South Derry? I will try and keep you posted on what I see. Had seen a photo on a road taken over the mountain between dungiven and draperstown - was very remote and lovely. I just need to get a bit more brave to think of these kinda places!

thanks girlies keep the ideas coming... my photographer suggested ashbrook house on the ardmore road but they charge £100 which I think goes to the upkeep of the house. Its an old house with nice grounds but it didnt really do it for me. We were thinking of grianan fort as we got engaged there... but even the slightest breeze n we'd be blown away up there. I seen a nice pic of a bride and groom walking down a road which was completly enclosed by trees... like a tunnel... looked lovely but have no idea where that was taken. As the big day gets closer this is one of the many wee details I am freaking out over

im thinking of the manor house in eglinton, its literally 5 mins from where im getting married. my photographer has just moved premises there too which is handy. my sis had her pics taken their a few yrs back and they were lovely. dont know how much they charge tho. I love the idea of beach pics too, especially with our wee dogs in them but not sure about the logistics yet (time to travel and dirty wet dogs)!!
