Hi there, Can someone give me advice on private & public in Drogheda v private and public in Newry. I have full health insurance and live in South... O:| O:| O:| O:| O:|

Hi Beechwood, I can only give you my experience. I went private in OLOL with Dr Arcpan approx 2500. Got lots of scans in his offices etc. He did not make it to the birth. Another consultant did. I got a private room in OLOL. I was happy enough. It was my first and I was very nervous and just knowing there was a consultant in the room relaxed me ... haha

fyi semi private is not an option in OLOL

There's also the fab birth center in the Lourdes that you can access as a public patient and you'll generally have a private room for your entire labour, birth and post natal :) No waiting times for appointments (can even have Sat/Sunday appointments) and Midwife visits to your home after babs arrives. Hi Beechwood2010 I had VHI. It didnt pay a lot towards consultant approx 100 or 150 if I remember right ......
