Hi girls, just wondering if anyone could give me some advice re choosing a consultant in Holles St (going semi private if that makes a difference). This is our first so very new to all this. Friends have had their babies in HS and were happy with it but I can't ask who their consultants were as we are only 6 weeks gone. I have heard good things about Steven Carroll but that he specialises in multiple pregnancies (only one bubs on board here!)
Thanks girls x

A huge congrats on your pregnancy, first off !
So exciting!
I had the same problem you have- all my friends
went to Holles St but couldn't ask their advice on
consultants as we were choosing one around the
same stage as you.
I googled & relied on forums and eventually went with S Carroll-I figured if he could deal with multiples one baby would be no bother to him!
Would highly recomend him. He scans on every visit which I found very reassuring (first pregnancy!) and has a lovely manner. I had a few odd complications during the nine months and found him excellent and very thorough.
If I'm lucky enough to have another baby I'll definitely go with him again.

Thanks so much topsecretbride that's exactly what I wanted to hear. Must book my appointment this week, so exciting! Did you get seen for a scan at around 12 weeks or was it later? We are having an early scan next week anyway but just wonder when my first scan at the hospital will be. It seems that different hospitals have different timings with scans.
Thanks again x

It's so hard because you could really use friends advice but it's the one time you can't ask anyone!
I went for a private early scan too and was seen for my first hospital scan at 14 weeks then 22 weeks.
Then every visit to Stephen Carroll I got a quick scan which was so reassuring.
It's such an exciting time but can be quite daunting too!

I went private to dr Carroll too and found him great. Very calm and reassuring.
