Stockings and suspenders any suggestions?

hi girls I have tried hold ups but find them uncomfortable, I have a suspender belt DH bought me in Ann Summers but I'm not sure how practical it is. I have been reading on line and it seems the best ones have 3 straps per leg also back straps should be 2 inches longer than front and side ones 1 inch longer. I am not about to trapse around town with a measuring tape in hand. Can anyone suggest a good brand? I saw some nice ones in Marks the other day, would they be worth a try? Also is it easy enough to tie tourself into them??
