Ok so I have my Christmas dress - its a black velvet pencil dress and I want to add a splash of colour. The original plan was a peach/dusky pink cardy with a pair of shoes in the same colour but I can't get shoes in that colour (or at least not in the right price range) so I need a plan b. Any suggestions?

I got these a few weeks ago to wear with a plain black dress, then matched up with red lipstick it was lovely....... http://ie1.schuh.co.uk/womens-red-schuh ... 1137143020

I like these babies for a pop of colour without being too in your face... [img:1f3yy8i5]http://www.barratts.co.uk/wcsstore/ConsumerDirectStorefrontAssetStore/images/products/x_large/34_270_1436.jpg[/img:1f3yy8i5] Velvet and lace, you couldn't get more luxurious for the Christmas season.

Snookie, where do they come from? I wouldn't normally go with open toes for December but they're pretty nice. Do you reckon I'd get a cardy to match (I need something to give me a bit of cover up top or I'll freeze to death)

Let me go have a snoop.

Cheers Snookie! Lollyboots, thanks for the suggestion too but I'd never cope with platforms like that. Heels I can manage but that much platform would throw me totally off balance. Keep the ideas coming ladies! I appreciate it.

I like the little bit of sparkle on this one : http://www.debenhams.ie/webapp/wcs/stor ... egories%3C{productsuniverse_18661}/categories%3C{productsuniverse_18661_65469}/categories%3C{productsuniverse_18661_65469_17667_ms} Black but could be good if you don't want to go bright on top: http://www.asos.com/River-Island/River- ... clr=Silver Dunnes and Penneys are always good for block colour cardis and you could add your own embellishments (I love buying fancy buttons) or a nice brooch if you want to jazz it up a bit.

Thanks snookie, that's some really nice looking stuff there. I'll swing into town on the weekend I think :) More suggestions also welcome if anyone has any ideas.
