Just wondering if anyone is planning on using a Tens Machine or get some feedback on them - this is my first pregnancy and not planning on booking one but want to get some feedback on them.

I rented one before I had DS, but ended up being induced, so didn't get to use it. Girl in the ward with me used one though, and found it fantastic - had a 9lb baby and got through labour with TENS, and gas and air.

Mini donkey as tens machine is used on your lower back. It sends pulses that activate the natural pain relief in your body. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transcutan ... I used one on DD1 - ended up buying one as was cheaper! I found it great for the early stages, just takes the edge off. Ended up having a section and my back was sore after so used it on my back and it was great. My Sis went completely natural with only tens and said it was brilliant! I receommend them! www.hipbaby.ie

induced also and used Tens machine. Survived on tens machine and gas and air although I was begging for the epidural, but it was too late to give it to me by the time I asked. It also helps take your mind off things as you can use the pulse button during the real peak of the contractions.

Where's the best place to rent one? Also how do you know when to book it for - i've seen them in Boots - might go in today and have a look and see what the story is with them.
