And I'm just wondering, what is it about them that draws such negativity? What are their policies or past actions that lead to the negative opinion?
Again, I'm genuinely curious and trying to patch a hole in my own ignorance by posting this, don't shoot me
Hey y'all, this is a question stemming from my own ignorance, not trying to sh!t-stir or anything, OK?
When we talk politics on WOL, people often make negative comments about the Labour party. I've heard similar comments on the radio etc.
I have no clue what the labour party in Ireland stands for
Yay for this post - I was also wallowing in ignorance as to why people are so anti-Labour party but unlike you cabbagehead, was afraid to admit it

Now that he's embraced technology and all
I don't have anything against Labour at all but yes I've noticed alot more anti Labour than anti FG chat on here too.. Maybe Enda's secretly posting on WOL
Well I dislike them.
-Gilmore is slimey
-Burton can't make a clear poin: 3 words and I have a headache listening to her
-None of them ever say clearly what they WILL do when in government: they just bang on about how they wouldn't [b:2a1rd5jk]have done[/b:2a1rd5jk] all the things the current gov have/ are doing
-Gilmore admitted to Tubridy that they would not reverse any of the 4 year plan cuts currently in place. That's fine with me because I believe the cuts are needed but if he won't reverse them, how can he keep banging on about how the government are getting it all wrong and what exactly WOULD he do differently then to FF?
-And finally they have a socialist mentality- the one thing they do promise is to tax the "rich". Now I'm all for capping the ridiculous pension and bonuses the rich crooks like Seanie Fitz and othes got (and continue to get) but I am on a decent salary and pay the higher rate of tax but I ain't rich- I fear where labour would draw the line in who they call rich and actually the middle earners of the country will get squeezed unfairly to pay disproportionately.
Thanks a million for that Teapotty - I understand a bit more now
Now it's only my opinion. They just get right up my nose and I know you can never trust the promises that any politicians make pre-election but I really think Gilmore is a con-artist and won't do a fraction of the miracles he lets on he will.
) anywya I more or less said this & that I really didnt know what Labour's policies were she said "Oh yes that because they have none" everyone else in room agreed that they really have no policies they just say what they wouldnthave done had they.................................bla bla bla
So does everyone think FG is the way to go??? as in the best of a bad bunch??
Its funny to see this post i was talking to my aunt last night who knows about politics (in her job but not a politician or working for any party
[quote="LJMom":1m6a79ir]t I really didnt know what Labour's policies were she said "Oh yes that because they have none" [/quote:1m6a79ir]
Little Miss Hopeful
I will be voting Labour (though my mother exclaimed - you'll end up on the Dole, Labour loves people on the Dole)
For obvious reasons I am not voting F.F, I'm not voting F.G because of Michael Noonan and the Hepatitis C thing and his stance on it, not that i know too much about it but what i do know I wouldn't vote them[url:1xyqmifm]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Noonan[/url:1xyqmifm]
Not voting Greens again for obvious reasons.
So that leaves Labour and S.F. I always said i wouldn't S.F but that might change.
The thing is FF and FG are too alike and we really need a new party to come and save us.
