Voted for Labour 1 and 2. Didn't give any other preferences. They're the only Party I even half believe in so I wasn't going to give any of their others a vote. Reasons... Have never voted for FF and never will. Too many reasons to mention. I don't agree with FG's re-introduction of stag hunting, making Irish non-compulsory, the 30,000 redundancies in the Public Sector, the fact that most of them abhor the idea of gay marriage and their conservative stance on other issues such as the right to abortion in this country. I voted Labour as I like their liberal stance on many issues, I believe that they put forward a good ecomonic manifesto, I agree with them not taxing people who earn under €100,000 and I also think that we have 2 strong candidates running in our consituency who will fight to do something for our country. Some other reasons too, but am in a rush. Re all the others... I don't believe in them (ie Sinn Fein, Socialist Party etc) and the Independents either didn't even put a leaflet through my door are are conservative idiots.

I haven't voted yet, I will on my way home from work.. I haven't decided on preference yet (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc) but I'm gonna vote for 2 Fine Gael candidates, 1 Fianna Fail candidate, 1 Labour and 1 independent candidate. Theres 10 more running, I don't know if I'll give them a preference yet or not, people have said to give everyone or almost all candidates a preference is the right way to do it.

There are 9 running in my constituency and i will be giving each and every one a number beside their names. I am voting because i believe in it and we are a democracy. I am always annoyed when there are poor turn outs. Mind you i was also annoyed when we were forced to vote again for the Lisbon Treaty just so they could get a yes! >:o( I am afraid im not going to tell you who im voting for and i am being strategic in my voting even though they say it wont work this time but i say well feck em :o0 . I am not voting ( as i have said in a number of threads ) for people who will do something for the area as no-one does anyway but im voting for who i think will do a good job in trying to turn around this mess. The truth is, it is possible this government wont last for more than 3 years and i do hope the people of ireland remember what FF did and never put them in charge again, however they are going to get some shock when the reaslise the extent of this mess and then whatever this stress test shows up. We are going to be paying for this for years to come unfortunately. ( oh god i just depressed myself im going to look for a happy thread now )

If you don't want them in charge, why are you even giving them a vote (even if it's No.9, that could be the one that elects them!!)??
