waiting period for private insurance

hi girls i took out private health insurance last June with Vivas. Found out i was pregnant last week and estimated due date is 22 September. I think I read somewhere that there is a waiting period from when you join that you cannot claim - will I be covered?

I'm with VHI and I think the waiting period is 12 mths but someone correct me on that if I'm wrong.. Vivas could be different - do you have the policy doeument? That normally includes that info Congrats on the pregnancy by the way!

thanks Mrs D - i'll route out the info. I'm thinking that you're not covered if you give birth within a year - might be wrong though. I'll just ring them in the morning!

firstly congrats , i think that its ok once you have been with them for one year before the babys born not before you get pregnant iykwim
