I'm hoping the weather will still be lovely as we've a wedding in Portugal this September (3rd week!) Haven't been there before in September but have been there at the beginning of April which is just the beginning of the busy season and there was a lovely atmosphere around Vilamoura. The restaurants & bars were all open and the weather was lovely - mid 20s which was very nice.

Is it a lively enough place? Don't know of many people who've been there but so long as there's a nice beach and some nice restaurants and some late bars I'd be happy!

I like it but it's not as lively as other towns along the coast. There are some good bars though around the marina especially the Irish bar behind the marina which often has live music. The restaurants are really nice there though and have a lovely ambiance overlooking the marina. There's a lovely Thai restaurant opposite McDonald's too.
