What oil to use

We were told at the anti-natal class that rubbing oil down below after a shower can prevent tears during labour - just wondering what oil is the best to us or what are you or have been using???

hiya, see my post on "perineal massage" from a couple of days ago i have been contemplating doing it too as i tore on my first pg it is supposed to be awkward/uncomfortable and a little stingy so not sure how ill go but i have heard either olive oil or sweet almond oil are what to do just keep it well away from your front as could cause infections etc i think its to start from 34 weeks+
