what time to put on evening invites

hi all, just doing up my invites, what should i put as a time to arrive for the evening reception guests...we hope to sit by 6 for our meal...would 9 be ok? im so confused...thank god i only plan to do this the once ha ha

9 /9.30 should be fine -what time do your band start? I'd rather have people coming a bit late, than landing in during desert iykwim

They say allow about three hours for the meal and speches so if you're sitting at 5.30 say 8.30 - most people will be a little late anyway in case things run over
