When to send invitations?

Hey all, were getting married in Spain next september. We have told the people we want to invite casually but we are going sending out offical invites but we are just wondering when to send out the invites? For Spain I'd send out a save the day card, just so everyone definitely knows the date for planning their holidays around. Also, people need to know if they're going to be officially invited to these things early, I might or might not be invited to a wedding in Poland in October, but because I'm not sure I'm not planning to go as I can't be hanging on to the days in case I don't need to. As for the official ones that people send RSVP's to, two months before is grand for the guests, but you might need to know your exact numbers sooner. Send the invitations six weeks before you need exact numbers.

hello cl2, I am getting married abroad this September and I sent save the dates with flight and hotel info in January and I sent my actual invites last week (am away for the next couple of weekends so while it's early, I'd rather know they're gone and at least it gives people plenty of time to book flights etc).
