Hi! I'm Matt, a photographer and film-maker based in Dingle, Co Kerry, Ireland.
I have been a part of many weddings over the last 20 years, either performing as a musician, photographing or documenting the day through film. I am a member of the rich community of artists and creators based in the Dingle area, which needless to say, provides a great deal of inspiration to us all!
When I photograph a wedding, I'm not a shouty person and while we need to get all the formal shots done, I'm always trying to make sure that couples get to enjoy their reception with their guests for as long as possible! We can take as many photos as you want to, but it's your day, your way!
My approach to making wedding films is to creatively capture all of the emotion, beauty and fun of the day. I look for genuine reactions and candid moments without being intrusive. I look for beauty in the little things, the knowing glances, the cheeky wink or a subtle tear to the eye. I like to focus too on the fine details as well as the venue, the cake, the car and that dress!
I use high-end, yet small cameras and equipment so I can stay out of the way while catching everything!
The aim of my work is to deliver the best possible keepsake and momento of a uniquely special day. Photography and film that'll bring you back to that very moment in time, the emotions you felt and the fun you had with your friends and loved ones on your big day.

Matt came recommended from a friend’s wedding and we are delighted that we booked him as our videographer. We went for the silver package and the footage is fantastic.
It's so much fun to watch back the day and see some things that we missed because we were so caught up in the moment itself!

Matt could not have done more for us on our Wedding Day. He was so easy to work with before our big day and no request was too big! Matt captured amazing clips of our day and put together the most beautiful video for us. Matt was so natural with us that none of our clips felt forced. He was so understanding of us on the day and worked with exactly what we wanted to and made our vision come to life. Matt blended into the background of our wedding and caught some clips of moments that we had missed, which we were so happy to look back on. We are so glad we booked Matt for our big day and we will be forever grateful to him for his kindness, attention to detail and ability to work with other vendors we had on the day. We are so delighted that we went with capture the day to video our wedding. Matt did a wonderful job. He was very professional and discreet. We did not notice him filming. He was very flexible and easy going. The finished film was brilliantly edited and we could not be happier with it. We would highly recommend capture the day for your special day

Matt and his partner are a fantastic team and are so professional. From the moment they arrived at our homes the morning of the wedding, we both felt so relaxed. Matt is so kind, reassuring and fun. Nothing was a problem and he worked so well with our photographers. The footage Matt took throughout the day was nothing short of perfect. Capturing all the special Moments, individual moments, drone footage, guests, the venue, the detail was amazing. Myself and my husband sat down together at Christmas time to watch our video back and it truly did take us back to our special day. I couldn’t fault Matt and his team; organized, easy going and extremely professional. Booking a videographer was always a must for me and I definitely booked the perfect team with Capture the Day.

Matt was fantastic to work with. He listened to what we wanted covered for our wedding and exceeded our expectations in what he delivered.
Matt worked around us without being intrusive and watching the videos were so happy with the moments he captured. We will have these memories always.

We had Matt as our videographer on the day of our wedding, he arrived to our rooms in the morning and had such a calming presence in a crazy morning, Matt was so much fun to work with (we have never worked with photographers or videographer before) he was in the background out of sight but captured the most amazing video that I will always cherish, your wedding day is a world wind of emotion and the day goes by in the blink of an eye but having matts video to look back on is wonderful I would recommend him to every bride and groom as you will not be disappointed :)

Matt and Rich are the dream team. So calm, relaxed and worked so well with our photographer that we had also. They are absolute gents. We literally could not have asked for better. So delighted with our wedding video and wedding highlights, they turned out even better than we imagined.

We couldn't recommend Matt highly enough. He was so professional and accommodating, even when I gave him the wrong eircode for the wedding morning, there was no issue or panic! He was amazing from the moment he arrived, so pleasant and so discreet all day, you?d barely notice he was there! He captured amazing moments and the highlight video we received, very promptly, made me so excited for the full video to arrive in my inbox, and let me tell you, it didn't disappoint. The editing of the video is impeccable, it is so extremely professional, and there is not one moment he missed. I have, and will continue to recommend Matt. From first contact, Capture the Day were true professionals. Transparent and easy to deal with, we were happy to hear they could travel to Limerick for our day as we were pleased with their footage online.
Paying the deposit was straightforward, and on the day Matt and his team were real pros, coordinating with our photographer and ourselves, always present to get the best shot at any given moment.
I would highly recommend Capture the Day to anyone - you will be glad you chose them.
Also, I recommend spending a little bit extra for the second videographer - definitely worth the price.

Matt was fantastic from start to finish, he worked seamlessly along side our photographer and this made myself and my husband feel so relaxed as we knew we were going to have our day captured the way we wanted. He was always prompt and professional when responding to me both before and after our wedding. We reached out to Matt to video our Wedding having seen the video he did for a friend back in May. It was a last minute addition to our day as we had fewer guests than originally planned and Matt couldn't have been more accommodating.
We were firstly very lucky that our weekend was available due to the short notice and secondly so pleased that Matt took the time to talk through what parts of the wedding he could shoot, how he could put it together and give us a guide as to what the cost would be.
On the day, Matt arrived at the house early and almost blended into the background! His shots were discreet and although he asked for a couple of specific groups and shots we didn't really feel like we were ?in a movie? or being directed.
As the day went on my (now) husband and I didn't really notice Matt doing his thing and once the ?party? had started he discreetly let us know that he was heading off for the day and would be in touch within a few weeks.
Matt had initially told us the video turn around would be 12 weeks and having opted for a highlight video, we actually received the finished product back in 4!
And let me tell you...The finished video was wonderful and made us both very emotional. Although the weather was typically Irish, the video was packed full of shots of our parents, Derek's nana, smiles and laughs from the day. We loved it so much we actually asked Matt for a longer version and although it wasn't initially planned for Matt had the video available and was able to put it together a couple of weeks later.
For a last minute decision, we were so pleased we did it and it's a real treasured part of our day!

Before the wedding, we did a pre-photoshoot with him, which was an incredible experience. Matt used one of the stunning shots from that session to create a custom photo board for our guests to sign around on the wedding day.
