Cathal Dervan Music
Hello!
My name is Cathal Dervan and I am a full-time professional singer and multi-instrumentalist with over 15 years experience. I have performed on some of the biggest stages in Ireland and the UK in recent years, including the Bord Gais in Dublin, the London Palladium and RTE's Late Late Show.
I provide unique, stripped back acoustic performances of genres including folk, traditional ballads and tunes, religious music, old favourites, country and many more. My aim is to make each couples' day as special as possible, using the music of their choosing. Whether it is Michael Buble, Johnny Cash, or even Christy Moore, I always have a song to create the ideal atmosphere at your wedding.
I provide music for:
- Ceremonies (church or otherwise)
- Drinks Receptions
- Day Two Celebrations
My solo performances are centred around vocals and acoustic guitar, and I also offer two/ three-piece options, should you wish to expand and enhance the soundtrack of your big day!

Cathal provided the entertainment for the night before our wedding. I found Cathal on instagram - I was searching for a singer that could sing old classics and also some Irish music and Cathal was the perfect fit. Cathal sang and accompanied himself on guitar - his voice is absolutely incredible!! All of our friends and family loved his music and couldn't complement him enough. He created a gorgeous atmosphere for our celebration. It was also my birthday on the night and Cathal sang happy birthday as a cake was brought out. Cathal was a dream to work with and I would 100% recommend him.

Cathal was excellent to deal with not only did we have beautiful renditions of our favourite songs on our special day but his professionalism was only top class. I am a musician Myself and I cannot recommend anyone better than Cathal. Our guests were so complimentary of his performance and he was a pleasure to deal with 10/10

Cathal recently preformed at a ceremony that I was a guest at and his voice took my breath away. He had tears in everyone’s eyes as the bride walked up the aisle. Everyone commented on the music afterwards. I only wish he were available to preform at my own wedding!

We had a 32 person wedding so in lieu of a band we booked Cathal to play from 9 - 12. We thought with a small crowd that everyone would just sit down and chat after dinner - nope! Cathal had everyone up and dancing all night, he was really interactive and knew how to read the vibe of the room. He played all the hits that everyone knew and took requests! We also asked him on the day if he could play a first dance song and it was no problem. The next morning (and since) everyone has been talking about how good he was. I would highly highly recommend him.

Cathal did an incredible job singing during our ceremony, was so beautiful. He made my mom cry a few times. I would definitely recommend Cathal. He was very easy to communicate with and was quick to respond. His voice was stunning

We hired Cathal to do the music for our Day 2 in Doolin. From the beginning he was incredibly responsive - dealing with Cathal was totally seamless. On the day itself he got set up with absolutely no hassle or input needed from us. We arrived and he was there!
He played a huge variety of songs that everyone loved and helped to create a gorgeous atmosphere. He has a really lovely singing voice. My band had actually forgotten to play the Father/Daughter dance song the day before, but Cathal happily obliged. This was a really lovely moment and I’m so grateful to Cathal for obliging.

I came across Cathal on a Facebook wedding page, in a mad scramble to find a singer for our drinks reception. I loved his voice and guitar playing from listening to a few videos and booked him almost immediately. His price was very reasonable and responded always in a timely and friendly manner. He arrived very promptly on the day to be set up for even the first guests arriving to the hotel. So many people came to my husband and I and complimented his singing. Would 100% recommend for future weddings. I also heard from friends of mine ( and know to him) that he is a fantastic trad musician also !! Thank you for everything Cathal !

Thank you so much for your performance during cocktail hour at our wedding on 06/12/25 - you were fantastic and really set the tone beautifully! Cathal sang every song choice we gave him more beautifully than we had imagined, and we received so many compliments following the ceremony on how beautiful the singer sang.

I would highly recommend cathal we had him for music for our drinks reception, we wanted a modern twist on some traditional Irish music and he was brilliant and also booking him was so straight forward and he was arriving during our ceremony and he just came and set up and was ready to go the minute our ceremony was over it was seamless.

Had Cathal do the ceremony music for our civil ceremony 3 weeks ago & he was just great! Excellent voice & very chill. We were so undecided on what songs we wanted & he was very helpful. Reasonably priced too. Would definitely recommend!

Cathal was simply perfect from start to finish for our wedding in August 2025. From initial contact, Cathal made us feel heard and was unbelievably accommodating with all our requests. He was incredibly responsive and gracious with his time, which made the whole process entirely seamless. Then, on the day, Cathal captured the vibe perfectly and contributed to making our ceremony incredibly special. To this day, we still have people commenting on our ceremony music so we cannot thank Cathal enough for this. It helps that Cathal is an incredibly talented musician, with a beautiful voice, and slotted in seamlessly with two of our other guests who accompanied him for songs, playing piano and violin. Cathal stepped in on a weeks notice and covered our ceremony & reception (about 3 hours of singing) and was absolutely phenomenal. Very easy to deal with, great voice and there were a tonne of compliments for him after the day. He really made our day that bit extra special. 10/10. Would highly recommend him.

We got Cathal and James to play both our wedding ceremony and our reception drinks and we couldn't recommend them more highly!
The music for the ceremony itself was beautiful. We were able to request specific songs we wanted and none of them were an issue for the guys!
On the lead up to the wedding they were so easy to deal with and get in touch with if we had any questions.

Cathal was so attentive to what we wanted for our day and hearing him sing before I entered the room where we got married almost set me off before we begun!
Cathal kept in contact and ensured that I had exactly what I had wanted. I would recommend him to anybody. 10/10 in every way and I can't imagine having anyone else perform for our wedding.

We had Cathal sing for us for after dinner music for the drinks part for our New Year’s Eve wedding. It was a duet with his partner on piano and Cathal on guitar with him signing and support from
His partner. It was a relatively small wedding about 50 people or so, but I think he can hold a room much much bigger with that voice if needed.
When we first heard his voice online we thought wow, and he was even better in person. We left the song choices up to him with some guidance and everything he played was an instant hit. The guests all commented on how good he was and the hotel staff gave similar feedback the next day. The duet with the guitar and violin coupled with the voice of the guys was really beautiful.
I would highly recommend Cathal for future weddings.
