Ceol Riobha - available for weddings in Limerick, North Cork & North Tipperary
Ceol Riobha is a female vocal & instrumental duo who have collaborated for 20 years. They first worked together in their local parish folk group and went on to sing at concerts, weddings and drinks receptions. The two girls are passionate about music and enjoy any opportunity of working together and bringing music to others!
Siobhán & Róisín would be delighted to provide the music for your special day. They perform a wide range of music to suit all tastes for religious & civil wedding ceremonies in the classical, traditional, liturgical & popular genres
Both Róisín and Siobhan have a special interest in contemporary liturgical music.
Siobhán is a dedicated and accomplished soprano and harpist with over 21 years of experience in musical performance.
She has studied under Olive Cowpar and has competed in and won numerous voice competitions in Féile Luimní and Feis Maitiu Cork.
She has lots of experience as a wedding soloist and harpist and has a large repertoire of music and song in traditional, celtic and classical styles.
She has also performed at church ceremonies including baptisms and funerals throughout Ireland and has sung solo at church ceremonies in Australia and the United States.
As a Bunratty Castle singer Siobhán entertained guests from all over the world at medieval banquets performing a theatrical programme of song and dance.
She was also a Solo singer with the National Harp Orchestra at musical events and concerts under the direction of Dr. Janet Harbison.
Siobhán possesses a warm personality with a unique and emotional voice.
Róisín holds a BA (Music) degree from NUI Maynooth, a Graduate Diploma in Music Education from UL and an Associate Diploma in Classical Piano Accordion from R.I.A.M.
She is a full time secondary school music teacher and has gained immense experience in the area of liturgical and secular choral & instrumental performance.
She plays piano/organ, accordion & guitar and has been involved with Church Choirs & Folk Groups for 25 years.
Róisín played accordion in Camille O’Sullivan’s band from 2001 to 2004 where she played the repertoire of Kurt Weill, Jacques Brel and Edith Piaf. She has appeared on TV, Radio & Film including the animation “Mendez” (2001).
She has years of experience as an accompanist and prides herself in a professional performance with the utmost sincerity and perfection.
Róisín has a wide knowledge of music and can advise you on the suitability of music in a religious and civil ceremony.
