We received our photos and to say we are over the moon with them from all the captured moments from the morning of the bridal party getting ready, our ceremony all the way to the after party. Our wedding was 9 Nov 2018 and it rained badly. We were a Dublin City wedding and had planned to have all out shots on Sandymount and in town however the rain changed plans. David accommodated us by setting up for our portraits indoors going to his car for equipment. He also came out in the rain and got the most amazing shots, which I did not want to do initially. So many people commented on how professional David was on our wedding day. He got every photo we wanted but you wouldn't even know he was there, he was not overbearing at all which is exactly what we wanted. Anyone that asked for photos David obliges also, all of which turned out lovely. As for value for money having priced a number of photographers he certainly ranks right up there. He is a very professional photographer who really knows what he's doing and we couldn't have been happier with how he went about his business and the results we got afterwards.

What an excellent photographer. David is a professional at what he does, from the time he came in the morning until he left (nearly midnight!) he made sure We were all relaxed and very natural in the pics. I can't wait to see the pics! If you are looking for someone who knows what they are doing and goes beyond expectations, I would highly recommend David.

We came across david by pure chance . He had donated a wedding photography pacakage as a prize to a charity fund ( which says a lot about him) . As the holder of this prize you could say we took a chance on him ; but what a lucky chance it was for us for the following reasons :

1. His photography skills are excellent . Being an older wedding couple he captured our very best aspects in a natural way

2 He was a very personable man . It's very important to get on well with the phographer- especially as it is a long day with a lot of photos to be taken . We liked him a lot and importantly our guests liked him . Many commented on how nice he was .

3. He was very accommodating to our needs . We have a large family and he catered for all the different aspects and family dynamics willingly.

4 He was very diligent paying a lot of attention to minor detail . David planned ahead of the day and made himself familiar with the names placed and important information . This meant that on the day he could easily remember key people and dynamics which freed us up to enjoy our day

5 . He was energetic and worked hard on the day . No request was too big or too small . He started early and didn't leave until he felt his job was well done . He took lots of photos .

6 He was very inclusive of the guests in a very gentle way and the guests loved having their photos taken professionally .

7 David didn't spare his skill on a package that was already gifted to charity which says a lot about his professional approach .

8 His after sales service is also very good and we recently called back to his studio for a girly occasion photograph

We had said from the time we start looking for photographers that this was the one thing that had to be 100 % right. When we met David first we knew within a few minutes that he was our guy. David did what no other photographer had done, he took the time (2 hours if i am correct) to take us through what every aspect of our day would consist of photography wise. There was no argument this man knew what he was doing & when he showed us a few snaps from previous weddings he proved not only could he talk the talk but he could walk the walk too! On the day he was amazing! He is a King behind that camera and he made it all so so easy with great craic along the way. We had said from day one to David that we were a giddy couple up for a laugh and a bit of fun and that we wern't really into the whole formal thing and that we wanted our pictures to show this. I cannot fault David's work from start to finish. He was very responsive to messages when first getting quotes and tailored a package to suit our needs. Before the wedding, he met with us at the venue to discuss photos we wanted taking and to show us potential places for photos. On the day, he was flexible and a calming influence on the whole day. As I got ready in the bridal suite, I barely noticed him. He was also very helpful at helping the lads sort their ties out! In the church, David was not at all intrusive and captured so many natural shots of both us and our guests. He was quick thinking and helped to deal with any minor hiccups on the day. Many guests commented on what a lovely man David was and he went above and beyond to get photos we had asked for - including hanging out of a window to get the all important group shot! We were married in May and are delighted that we chose David as our photographer. His organisation and attention to detail from the initial enquiry through to the delivery of the photos was second to none. I'm not one for having my photo taken but David put me at complete ease, he was so professional but portrayed a relaxed persona whilst keeping everything organised & punctual. I was very skeptical when I started looking at photographers for our wedding, so when a mutual friend introduced me to David, I couldn't wait to meet him and talk through our wedding plans. We had a Marvel Superhero themed wedding in February of this year and you could tell David was nearly as excited as we were. When we first met with him he completely put us both at ease, giving us tips and the rundown of how the day would go. As this was 2+ years to our wedding those were things we hadn't even began to think of or look at and with David's help it was all sorted very quickly and happily. Before we knew it our day was here and David arrived spot on time, he took about 5 mins to set up and that was him for the day, again he kept things very natural, half the time we didn't even know he was there. Everyone told us afterwards how he never stopped shooting and captured every moment. It was only two weeks ago when we did our first viewing that we realised he really did capture EVERY single moment and we're so glad he did. We also opted for the photo booth add-on and everyone loved the freedom of this and availed of a few cheeky snaps. We arranged the wedding at very short notice due to an illness in the family. Despite this David was fantastic. He was discreet during the ceremony and the quality of the pictures was just fabulous. My sister (the bride) does not like to be photographed but David's manor put her at ease and made the whole thing a great experience for us all.

I think the most difficult vendor to choose is the photographer. It took me months to look at every possible photographer. I came across David while looking for a videographer and while I was watching the wedding video I was really impressed with the photos that were being taken. The bride looked comfortable, the poses were natural yet unique and the background was beautiful. After doing a little bit of research I found the photographer David McAuley and I contacted him, he was quick to respond and answer any questions. Since I was planning my wedding from the US, a quick turn around time was important to me. His prices were very fair and his portfolio spoke quality. Most importantly, upon meeting him, he was friendly, accommodating, and professional. He arrived on time day of the wedding and went straight to work and he even stayed later when we asked him to. I liked that he was flexible to take any photos I requested at the time, yet he also used his creativity to produce great images! After looking around for a wedding photographer, I came across David's website and decided to contact him regarding a consultation for our wedding photography. David responded to my request in a very timely manner and we made an appointment for him to come to my house to meet both myself and my future husband, Ray.

He arrived on time and was well prepared for the consultation. He showed us samples of his wedding photography, which we were very impressed with. He also took all of our details and those of the wedding party so he would be familiar with who was who on the big day. He made extensive notes as to where we wanted our photo taken after the ceremony. He also advised on what services he had on offer, eg a photo booth, and what his wedding packages entailed. He spent a good while trying to figure exactly what myself and Ray wanted/expected from him so he would be able to tailor his services to our needs.

On the day itself, he arrived early and was calmness itself :-) He was non invasive, but managed to take a lot of photos of myself, and everyone involved in the wedding preparations. After a good many shots were taken, he left so he could catch up with the groom at the Registry Office, so he could take more photos there and be prepared for when I arrived.

We had our main photos taken at the botanic gardens. David was fantastic in picking out great spots for the photos to be taken, and he took both the formal photos as well as the casual ones, when people weren't aware he was aiming his camera at them. By doing this, he got a real feel of the day captured for us, which we absolutely loved! He was great at directing the poses we should take and who should stand where etc. He was so calm, he got everyone relaxed and it really showed in the photos that everyone was having a bit of fun :-)

I'd HIGHLY recommend David as your wedding photographer. He was professional, punctual, calm, friendly, well organised and best of all, the photographs turned out amazing!

What can i say. From the very beginning David was a true gentleman and professional. From our first meeting David knew exactly what we were looking for. Your photography really captured all the fun and enjoyment on the day, as well as those special quieter moments, and things we didn't even see on the day... and all in way that was natural and unobtrusive and made everyone relaxed and at ease. Mark and I just wanted to say how happy we are that we chose David as the photographer for our wedding. His professionalism and easy going manner made him a pleasure to deal with. On the day everyone commented on nice he was and so easy to get on with, no barking orders or demands but still managed to get all the photos i wanted (and it was a long list!). Mike and I want to thank David for all the hard work he put in helping us organise our big day. After a potential disastrous discovery on our wedding morning he even supplied my dad with cufflinks! He constantly surprised us with his jokes on the day whilst snapping away which led to great natural photos as I am not a big fan of posing and wanted him to capture us during the natural flow of things. David went above and beyond for us, often going out of his way to meet me and was always only a phonecall away offering tips.Very professional to work with but great humour also which was needed when my heels started killing me and I was getting grouchy! From the moment we enquired with David, we knew we had made the right decision for our wedding photographer. Any questions we had, David answered promptly and in detail. We had a few photo ideas that we wanted to try on our wedding day and David managed to capture everything we asked for, he was very open to ideas but also lead the way when we were unsure. David was extremely professional and fitted in so well, I barely knew he was there in the morning getting ready, or at the church - yet such beautiful moments were captured!!
