Raindance - The Wedding Band with that little bit extra...Raindance are a four-piece band located in Galway but offer a nationwide wedding music service for very reasonable rates. The line up consists of Keyboards, Lead Guitar, Bass guitar and Drums. All four members have vocal abilities with two lead vocals and the remaining two members performing harmonies.The band cover a wide variety of musical styles and have a vast range of hits from the 's, 's, 's and the current chart in their repertoire, and continue to add new music regularly to keep the show fresh and modern.Unlike other middle of the road wedding bands, Raindance are not afraid to "rock it up" with their music, and their diverse set ranges from such 's classics as " Red Balloons" from Nena to recent hits like "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" from The Darkness. Other artists covered include Robbie Williams, INXS, David Bowie, The Violent Femmes, The Strokes and Greenday - to name but a few. Each of the songs in the set is instantly recognisable, thus inspiring a sing-along party atmosphere.The Raindance wedding set lasts up to three hours on average, with a brief interval for refreshments. The first part of the night usually comprises of a selection of Waltzes, Jives, Slow Foxtrots, and the infamous "Siege of Ennis" as is traditional at Irish weddings (although sections can be shortened, or completely omitted if the couple request). This is followed in succession by Rock n' Roll floor-fillers from the 's and 's from such artists as Tony Christie, The Beatles, The Monkees and Elvis. The latter part of the night is made up of upbeat hits from the 's, 's and current chart music, with dancing favourites from Prince, Thin Lizzy, The White Stripes, U2, The Stunning and The Proclaimers. Every effort has been made to ensure that the set has something for everyone, and caters for all ages.Raindance offer a discounted Band and DJ package, which has proved popular with past couples, as the music is continuous and guests don't have to leave the floor for the change between the Band and DJ. As well as the economical benefit, there is also only one contact for the whole night's entertainment, and so there's one less thing to worry about on the night.
