I am a multi award winning Legal Wedding Solemniser, a Family Celebrant and an Interfaith Minister. I am Registered as a Solemniser with the HSE which means that I have the authority to legally marry you on your wedding day in your venue. I am based in County Laois and work nationwide.
I will guide you through the process of creating a bespoke ceremony with you, ensuring that it expresses your love and commitment to each other in a unique, personalised and meaningful way and reflects your beliefs and wishes, personal stories, philosophy of life, and personality. I will help make the planning through to delivery of your ceremony as stress-free and simple as possible.
As your Solemniser I will create a bespoke ceremony for you which will be modern, upbeat and yet can include traditional and ancient rituals. I will create your Ceremony in full consultation with you in order that the service includes everything you would like. Your Ceremony will be legal, bespoke, personal and bridge the gap between church, civil, spiritual or humanist; whatever type of ceremony you wish for I will make that wish come true!
I absolutely love working with couples at this exciting time in their lives and I aim to create a Ceremony which reflects your personalities, your hopes and dreams for the future and to make yours an enjoyable and stress free journey. This ensures that the atmosphere on your wedding day maintains the integrity of the commitment you are making to each other and is informal, relaxed, enjoyable, fun and something both you and your guests can look back on with fond memories for years to come. I only hold one wedding per day so you choose the time of your Ceremony and if that changes for any reason I am available.
You may wish to include personal vows, readings, ancient rituals such as handfasting, quaich, sand ceremony, ring warming/blessing, ceremony of light/Unity Candle or in 2023 and 2024 a popular one is to Jump The Broom, to name just a few. Details of Ceremony enhancements are included on my website http://www.weddingandfamilycelebrant.ie and when we meet I will explain the many possibilities to you. You may want a ceremony full to the brim or more low key, the choice is yours.
I have taken a vow of inclusivity and welcome diversity of gender, orientation, colour, nationality, ability and culture within the bounds of Irish law, and I have no requirement to speak about any parent organisation during your ceremony.
I offer a quality service & professional delivery, I have been creating Ceremony since 2006 and love what I do. Over the years I have held Ceremonies in hotels, castles, on Irish Islands, mountain tops, beaches and on the Cliffs of Moher. I invest my time and energy into each ceremony that I create.

Rev. Brenda was a pleasure to deal with and the ultimate professional. On the day of the wedding she arrived early and took over all the organization of all deatails of the ceremony, while I relaxed getting my hair and make-up done. The ceremony was a beautiful, memorable event, involved family and friends, making it so personal. Many wedding guests commented afterwards, how unique and interesting it was. We had been to a few civil ceremonies, but Brenda was the one celebrant who really stood out.
Brenda made our ceremony so personal to us, gave everyone a laugh with her sense of humor, and brought us all to tears with emotion. Brenda is such a professional at what she does and really makes you feel at ease around her.
A lot of our guests said the ceremony was one of the best they had ever witnessed - and that's why we booked her, because we felt the same after being guests at a wedding she celebrated previously.
Also, if you have been to a few civil ceremonies, you will know that often their sound systems are so bad that you can't hear the celebrant. Not the case with Brenda. She inquired to the type of venue and number of people attending so she could bring the right sound system for the occasion.

Rev. Brenda was absolutely phenomenal and ensured myself and my new wife had a ceremony we would enjoy looking back on. From the moment we reached out we felt cared about and looked after in the build up to the wedding. We had done all planning within 6 months so having Brenda just come in, take immediate charge and provide firm direction for the ceremony helped take a massive weight off our shoulders and her attentiveness throughout it all and guidance ensured we had not a single worry on the day.

The most beautiful and personal ceremony!
Brenda was incredible to work with from start to finish. Many of our guests remarked that it was the most personal and moving ceremony they had witnessed, and we have Brenda's incredible level of care to thank for it. Beautiful Ceremony Go raibh mile maith agat Brenda
We got married in September this year and Rev Brenda was our solemniser and celebrated our wedding in a way we could have only dreamed of.
Brenda took the time to get to know us in advance of our wedding and really took everything into account to bring it to our ceremony and make it so personal.
Everyone was taken back by how intimate and beautiful the ceremony was and how Brenda celebrated our two children including them in our sand ceremony remembering our loved ones who had passed. She assisted us with readings and gave us ideas for the format of the ceremony. We included a Celtic hand fasting which is so emotional to watch back. The comments we got from people was that it was absolutely beautiful. Brenda brought the Irish language to our Celtic ceremony and it was Brenda along with our beautiful singers Kelly and Damien from Something Blue Acousics made a harmonious ceremony. It was like we had practiced and we didn’t have a rehearsal. Brenda thought of everything. We supplied our own candles but when we had our ceremony outside we needed lanterns Brenda had everything. It couldn’t have been more perfect on a Beautiful autumn day we were married outside in our dream venue in the courtyard. We are so happy Brenda married us and was a huge important part of our memorable day and we will never forget her kind words and vows. Go raibh maith agat Brenda xxx

Incredible Ceremony
Reverend Brenda held our wedding ceremony in Castlemartyr in August, and we could not recommend her enough. Fabulous Wedding Ceremony
Rev. Brenda was amazing from the time we met her at a wedding fair till the day of our wedding. The way she explained all the rituals she could incorporate into our wedding made us choose Brenda. We had such great reviews from everyone who attended our wedding who said how much they enjoyed the ceremony and all the rituals. We had our families read out passages, friends reading out messages for us, tying the knot, lighting the candles and our rings which were set in stone and presented to us for our ring exchange. Eventhough we were late in making some key decisions before the wedding, Brenda was patient with us and helped us through the process. Overall we are really happy we got Brenda to officiate our marriage and making it a memorable one for us.

There are not enough words to describe just how wonderful Brenda is. She created the most amazing personalised ceremony for us, it was everything we could have wished for and more. The perfect amount of emotion with lots of laughter too. We had only ever been to one civil ceremony before so we were a little nervous but my god you we had absolutely nothing to worry about. We have heard from several of our guests it was the most beautiful ceremony they had ever been to and to hear my mam say as she greeted us after the ceremony “oh my god, she was just wonderful” was really the cherry on top for me.
Brenda included the Celtic hand fasting into our ceremony and it was such a beautiful way to symbolise tying the knot!

We were married January 31st, 2025 by Brenda in Knockranny. We were so happy with the ceremony and so many of our guests loved it. Brenda was warm and welcoming to all. Brenda officiated our wedding and provided a great service. The ceremony was personalised for us and the readings and vows provided by Brenda was super helpful. Brenda helped put us at ease before the wedding and was very clear on our calls before of what we needed to do and helped organise everything.

We choose Brenda as she had married friends of ours during Covid and we loved her cermony. When it came to planning our day Brenda was an non negotiable- it was so special. The amount of people who came to us on the day of the wedding and who have contacted us since to say that they absolutely loved the cermony Brenda delivered is commendable. It was all about us as a couple and our family and we loved it. Wedding Ceremony
Brenda was our celebrant for our wedding last month and she was excellent from start to finish. Nothing was an issue and so relaxed, just what we wanted. Our children were also very involved in the ceremony. There both tears and a few giggles through out. So many of our guests complimented us on the ceremony with one already looking for her number!!!!

We highly recommend Rev Brenda O'Grady. We cannot thank her enough for creating such a wonderful memorable and special Ceremony and helping us to arrange an amazing day, with only 2 days notice. She was so professional and responsive to us.
The Ceremony was just beautiful with little pieces from both our heritage.
With such short notice we had no photographer and Brenda offered to set up a video camera to capture the Ceremony. The amateur video is just brilliant and we are so grateful to have this as a lasting memory of our special day.

rev.brenda was an unbelievable in every aspect from the beginning when due to unforseen circumstances our wedding license was overdue she helped us retrieve it in time for our ceremony .
She kept in constant contact and answered every query in a timely manner which made us feel secure that everything would go as we planned on our special day.

Beautiful ceremony
Brenda captivated the attention of our guests from start to finish. She provided a highly personalised and heartfelt ceremony. Our guests commented that they had never attended such a beautiful and intimate ceremony. She gave us fantastic ideas of elements we could incorporate into our ceremony. For example, using locks to symbolise the union. She put us at ease and lots of laughs were shared on the day.

Outstanding service
Nick and I got married in Langtons Kilkenny in October 2024. We only had a small ceremony but Brenda made it absolutely magical. No detail was left out and the guests all left saying how amazing the ceremony was. From start to finish the communication with Brenda was amazing. Thank you so much Brenda. Abousulty fantastic service from start to finish. Brenda wad so easy deal with.. help , advice , links. How prepare green folder. It was pleasure speak to her before the wedding. She made cermony dignified when needs be as it us solemn service. She interacted with guests. She made it personal and fun. We both felt relaxed. She also had a memento gift and card fir the day. Our guests loved the cermony.we knew we were In safe hands. Nothing was too much for brenda. She asked what we wanted service and worked around that. Beyond satisfactory with brenda. Our ceremony was so much better than we could ever have imagined and it was all because of Brenda. Brenda made our wedding ceremony magical. Everyone is talking about how personal it was and how they have never been to a nicer ceremony and I have to agree with them even if it was mine. I have never been to a wedding ceremony where the guests have a giggle, it was amazing. Brenda guided us through the service, provided us with vows, readings, blessings and enchantments, we didn't have to worry about anything. Brenda is truly gifted at what she does. Myself and my new husband (!!) would highly recommend Brenda to anyone planning their wedding. She was so down to earth and lovely to deal with and very professional and helpful in every step along the way. From an initial call to run through everything we needed to organise, to providing extremely helpful resources for for selecting readings and vows etc. she was just wonderful.
We loved the ceremony she created based on answers to questions she gave us. It was both unexpected and beautifully woven together. Brenda was absolutely amazing from start to finish! She was responsive over email and had video calls to get to know us in advance, she provided everything we needed for our sand ceremony our unity candles and our hand tying. All our friends and family couldn't believe how personal Brenda made the ceremony. Nothing was a problem, she was a calm and level presence on the day and wasn't phased by our 1 year old wanting to be involved in every aspect of the ceremony! Brenda was absolutely amazing to work with and was incredibly easy going with our requests. She made us feel completely at ease from the very first video call. Brenda made the ceremony very personal and all of the guests were impressed with the ceremony afterwards. Brenda created a gorgeous ceremony for our wedding. She created such a fun atmosphere - we didn't expect to be applauded up the isle on entrance! - and that really helped take the nerves off. No detail was spared - from her beautiful table set-up to her kind and thoughtful words in telling our story and guiding us through the whole ceremony, everything was top class. Our friends and families were so complimentary of the ceremony (lots of happy tears shed!), even those who had their doubts about a non-religious ceremony beforehand. Everyone who took part in the ceremony felt really comfortable, as Brenda ensured they were all taken care of. Brenda really made it a beautiful occassion for us and we cannot thank her enough! Not only was Brenda an amazing celebrant, she even came to the rescue in the ladies with a spray to help re-set the makeup!
